Iiro A. Ahokas

A 2001 graduate of the University of Art and Design in Helsinki, Iiro A. Ahokas specializes in product and concept design. This affinity can be seen in his textile prints for Marimekko. His prints are highly dimensional and his color choice and prints create impressive depth. Never settling for the standard reach of design and art, Ahokas believes a great artist “…has the gift of getting tired of things quickly and then moving on, having the will to challenge the old and a passionate need to find something new.” Living true to this statement, designer Iiro A. Ahokas continues to conjure new ideas and exchanges his ideas as a lecturer at Aalto University and the School of Art and Design in Helsinki.
