For Magisso designer Maria Kivijärvi, the idea for the Magisso Cake Server came to mind while sitting and drawing on a sunny day at the lakeshore. Fresh and unique, her design strayed away from the traditional triangle-shaped cake server to produce a kitchen utensil that provided a simpler way to cut and serve cake. According to Maria, “even though functional and innovative design has recently been a trend in kitchen and tableware, the basic idea of a cake server hasn’t changed”, so she made a deliberate choice push current design boundaries and her product became a novel success.
