Anu Penttinen

Born in Helenski in 1974, Anu Penttinen has chosen glass as her medium of expression and has been able to hone her skills offering glass works that completely reflect her point of view; a true accomplishment as an artist. A graduate of the University of Art and Design in Helenski, Penttinen now has a studio at the prestigious Nuutajärvi Glass Village in Finland and has designed two impactful glass collections for iittala. The first, her crystal-like Vitriini decorative boxes and the second is her 2008 iittala bird collection. A knack for unique color combinations and soft rounded shapes, Penttinen’s playful bird creations are irresistible and breathed new direction into the wonderful glass bird tradition. Both of her collections for iittala are original and unbelievable beautiful.
