Marimekko Ginkgo
Kristina Isola's plant-themed patterns play a prominent part in Marimekko's fabric collection. Isola is in awe of the wondrous life of plants; “they may persist in the same place for hundreds of years – living, shriveling and going peacefully to rest, utilizing the nutrients that they themselves have produced, and so grow once again.” This immense appreciation for nature shines in her Ginkgo print in which solitary leaves from a Ginkgo plant are evenly scattered across a solid background. Visually, her print is impressive because it is so detailed; it almost looks like a scientific sketch. Available in several contrasting color palettes, the Ginkgo print and its smaller version called Biloba are a simple way to incorporate nature into your indoor spaces.
