Q & A
iittala Tapio was designed by Tapio Wirkkala in 1952, and received the Grand Prix Award at the Milan Triennale in 1954. With an innovative design that proudly bears the artist's own moniker, Tapio Wirkkala masterfully suspends a single air bubble inside the weighted stem of each glass.

Nice Glasses
September 1, 2012
I have seen these many times before and I had forgotten how small they are. I had also forgotten the the bubble on the bottom has an opening, which can be a problem if you put these in the dishwasher (particles get in there and they are stuck). They are, however, very beautifully classic Finnish glasses and I am glad that I purchased them for nostalgia sake!
