Originally designed 1982, the Toikka Crow is brought back in celebration of 40 years of Toikka’s world famous glass birds. Blown from black and gold brown luster glass and freely hand formed into shape, the Toikka crow’s silhouette is crisp and clean. The Crow’s simple black sheen is offset by a bright blue band around the neck. Leaning over as if looking for something on the ground, the Crow’s round body is kept balanced by the wide, flat tail and broader head reaching out from either end.
The 2012 collection of birds by Oiva Toikka are individually mouth-blown by the master glassblowers at iittala’s glassworks shop. Each handcrafted iittala Toikka Crow carries the signature “O. Toikka” on its base to ensure authenticity.
