Q & A
The Ice Floe Platter is a multifunctional decorative object for everything from serving guests to interior design. Tapio Wirkkala designed the Ice Floe in 1976, and it is still made using the original molds handcrafted by Wirkkala himself. The platter fittingly resembles ice floes commonly seen in Finland and Nordic regions, which are large and often flat packs of floating ice. Whether serving appetizers, holding jewelry and perfumes, or simply displaying as a stand-alone piece, the versatile iittala Ice Floe will be a stunning addition to the home with its sparkling, crystal clear glass. Manufactured at the Iittala glass factory in Finland, each ice platter is signed with the designer’s initials and the year of manufacture.
