Q & A
Houseplants are becoming a home decor essential for their lush beauty, health benefits, and ability to bring a room to life. Put your prized plants on a pedestal with the Nappula pot. Made from ceramic, it's the perfect home for cacti, succulents, ivy, and more. Designer Matti Klenell was inspired by the legs of a peculiar table he came across at the Nuutajärvi glass museum to create the Nappula candle holders, and these planters fit seamlessly into the clean-lined, classic-meets-contemporary collection. The bowl-like upper portion holds the greenery while the hollow bottom acts as a stable stand that can be placed on the floor, a table, or stool. Wearing a crisp white hue, this is the taller of two available heights.

First founded as a glassworks company in 1881, iittala is now a leading company in modern Finnish design producing a range of dinnerware, glassware and art pieces. You’d be hard-pressed to find a Finn or fan of Finnish design that doesn’t recognize the iittala logo, designed by Timo Sarpane... More iittala
Planter is beautiful and steady. As expected finish is impeccable. Good size for succulents and short stem plants.

This is a great piece from Iittala. As a floral designer I love to make beautiful arrangements on these iittala pots. I have different sizes of these. Totally recommend!!

Beauty, simplity, and quality

We eventually bought 9 of these (on sale) in a mixture of sizes and colors to create a succulent garden beneath an interior skylight in our mid-century modern home in Rancho Mirage, CA. They are the perfect complement to our style and space. I have long been a fan of iittala products, after discovering them on a visit to Helsinki many years ago. I've never been disappointed.
Pros
Clean Scandinavian modern design and quality production.
Cons
As planters, they would be improved with a small drain hole in the bottom. Since we are using them for desert plants with limited water needs, it's not a problem.
