The illustration on this large laminated birch serving tray is from the 1977 book “The Dangerous Journey”, the last Moomin picture book written and illustrated by Tove Jansson. The image of the residents of Moominvalley appears to be a watercolor painting, with beautiful blending and shading. The Dangerous Journey tray is made by Opto Design of Sweden.

My family and I are so happy with this tray with its whimsical picture from one of our favorite books. The tray is beautiful and versatile and will be used every day in our house. It will be great as a serving tray, as a place to keep special things, or even as a writing paper/pen tray. Of course we will keep it empty at times to enjoy the wonderful artwork which makes us happy and reminds us of a well-loved book and the fantastic creations of Tove Jansson.
