Meaning "beehive" in Finnish, the Marimekko Mehiläispesä Duvet Cover features mother-daughter duo Maija and Kristina Isola's interpretation of these beautiful honey homes. Abstract oval shapes contain hundreds of curving taupe metallic lines, which sparkle and shimmer when the light hits them. This special detail gives the duvet a richness and luster that needs to be seen in person to truly be appreciated. Made from 100% cotton percale in a high thread count of 300, this soft duvet will feel as luxurious as it looks. Mix and match this duvet with the Marimekko Muru Taupe Sheets for a combination that looks expertly yet effortlessly paired. A new way to master neutrals, the Marimekko Mehiläispesä Duvet Cover will be the delicate yet mesmerizing focal point of the bedroom.
(see measurements below)About Percale:
A high-quality weave, percale has a noticeably tighter weave that allows for a higher thread count which makes the sheets softer to the touch. Medium in weight, the fabric is matte with no additional sheen or shine but the texture is very smooth and able to resist warping and washes exceptionally well.
Care: Wash in cold water on the gentle cycle. Tumble dry low. Iron on warm as needed.

This duvet cover is well-made, and the fabric is substantial. While striking, the design is also subdued enough to create a calm bedroom atmosphere. Received it the day after the order was placed.

Great

I love this duvet and the shams. The fabric is substantial and the items are very well made. Speaking of the fabric, it is glam but clean and a bit earthy at the same time. What do I mean? Well, there are tiny gold fibers in the fabric, nothing too obvious but giving it a slight shimmer. The design itself is simple and organic. I live in Florida and use a lot of sandy and driftwoody colors with pops of watery blues and greens. So this duvet sets the stage by hinting at sand and wood while allowing my colors to have a background that is NOT seashells and palm trees. Perfect. Perfect. Perfect.

Absolutely stunning

I am a huge fan of Marimekko bedding and towels. In particular, the cotton percale bedding is always a better choice over the sateen, as it seems more durable. This "beehive" pattern in the muted tones will go with any setting.
Pros
100% percale cotton is durable and comfortable.
Cons
I wish that Marimekko would make more patterns available in American twin size, in particular the duvet covers.

Great Design

Love the design on this Marimekko Duvet. It looks great in my bedroom. The only downside of the duvet is it is noisy due to the low thread count. So, it is a bit stiff and not very cozy feeling. I still like it and plan on keeping it in hopes that after a few more washings it will soften up.
Merchant Response:This duvet has a 300 Thread Count.
Pros
The color and design
Cons
Fabric is noisy and the thread count is low so not a very soft feeling.
