Marimekko Korsi White / Grey Sheet Set

The Marimekko Korsi striped sheet set I bought is fine quality cotton, almost heavy enough that I don't need a blanket. The sheets are generous in size for my twin bed.

I am a big -- make that huge fan of Marimekko. These sheets are a beautiful, soft gray color and one of Marimekko's tamer designs. Very elegant. Great fit. Great in the laundry. Great service.

I recently bought these Marimekko Korsi white/grey striped full sheets. The pattern is subtle and nice-looking, I like how the top sheet is considerably more faded in print than the bottom sheet, giving it a subtle look. But the essential problem is that sheets are not so much to be looked at but to be FELT. I have generally sensitive skin and detect when cotton is rough vs. smooth, and especially in a warm climate where I live where you feel warm all night, these sheets are scratchy, not "soft and gentle" as the description says. The products are not the same quality (nor, admittedly, the price) as you find in Europe. So Americans I guess get what they pay for, but I would really caution anyone from buying these sheets if they are sensitive to rough weaves of cotton. 300 thread count is apparently "rough", so I don't know why they are passing themselves off as "smooth and gentle". I have awoken a few times in the night since putting them on the bed, and the first thing I think of is 'high-number sandpaper'. Unfortunately I already washed them so can't return them :(. Customer service at Finnstyle was very pleasant and understanding, but it is what it is. I'm stuck with sheets that I won't be using.
