In 1953, designer Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi was experimenting with freehand brushstrokes when the Piccolo pattern was born. Three years later, it made its way onto the first Marimekko menswear, now an iconic Finnish wardrobe staple cherished by men and women alike. The Marimekko Jokamies (Every Man) Black/Grey Shirt is a variation of the original Joikapoika (Every Boy) striped button-up, but with a slimmer and more tapered fit.
