A high-quality weave, percale has a noticeably tighter weave that allows for a higher thread count which makes the fabric softer to the touch. I am unhappy with these sheets. They are way too big. We have a standard Queen size bed with deep mattress but these sheets are much longer than the bed and I don't get a nice snug fit in any direction. Plus for some reason I thought the stripes were smaller and a different shade of blue. I know that is not your fault but overall I was disappointed.
