With only 14 of these sets for sale in the U.S., the iittala Toikka Bird and the City Set is truly a one-of-a-kind treasure for devoted Toikka collectors and appreciators of Finnish glass design. The 2016 Bird and the City collection unveiled five birds designed to suit the spirit of its city: Minneapolis, Washington DC, Hong Kong, Seoul and Kyoto. FinnStyle had the pleasure of providing inspiration to Oiva Toikka for the Minneapolis bird. Mouthblown in Finland, each bird is signed “O. Toikka IITTALA” on the base and numbered 1-200 to ensure authenticity; all five birds share the same number to tell a cohesive story.
