Only 750 numbered of the iittala Toikka 2017 Kiuru Annual Egg were laid by the Annual Bird Kiuru, making it a one-of-a-kind collector's piece. It shares the same Finnish national colors in honor of Finland's 100th anniversary of independence. When the opal white glass is blown into the mold, it allows small air bubbles to form on the surface of the glass. Blue dye is added in powder form to create a pearl-like pattern under the clear glass that matches that of the Kiuru bird's body.
Please note: Blue markings will vary; some have more or less streaks or spots than others. This is due to the handcrafted nature and is not a blemish or defect.
The birds and eggs of Oiva Toikka's 2017 collection are individually mouth-blown by the master glassblowers at iittala’s glassworks in Finland. With only 750 produced, each handcrafted iittala Toikka Kiuru 2017 Annual Egg carries the signature “O. Toikka IITTALA 2017” and is numbered to ensure authenticity.

My daughter is having her first baby in April. I purchased the 2017 Ittala bird, Kiuru, for her and the egg for the baby. I'm going to give it to her at the baby shower and what a beautiful gift it is!! Just think-all that baby stuff will fade away, and the Kiuru egg will be an expression of grandma's love, now and forever. (O K-that's a little dramatic, but it's how I feel :)
