Like many of the designs in the collection, the 2014 Alder Thrush Annual Bird and Egg were hatched solely from Oiva Toikka's infinite imagination and require complex coloring techniques to achieve their rich texture. Luckily, this detailed craftsmanship is no obstacle for the highly skilled glass blowers at the Nuutajärvi factory in Finland who make his visions a reality. This partnership has been bringing individually mouth-blown glass birds to life for over 40 years, and these six new pieces prove that practice makes perfect.
