Created by a group of dedicated collectors all over the world and streamlined by editor Marg Cousens, "Toikka's Glass Birds" is the most comprehensive book ever written about designer Oiva Toikka's famed creations. Honoring the late designer's impactful career, Oiva Toikka's imaginative glass birds have been delighting people all over the globe for over 50 years. Made by collectors for collectors, this book is a limited-edition item (X/500) and signed by author Marg Cousens (see secondary image).
The first 230 pages present a catalogue of 650+ different Toikka glass birds and eggs with color images and descriptions, taking you on a journey through time beginning in the 1970s to present day. This also includes special birds and eggs produced for SCOPE in Japan.
To follow, certain bird groups are presented together in 80 specialty pages of informational reading about their conception. The book nears its end with an Educational chapter about signatures, labels and stickers, followed by a section of photographs of personal collections shared by global contributors.
