Seems a bit small, surface is slippery so I can imagine something put on it would tend to slide off. I think the pattern is cute that is why I purchased it; don't think I will ever use it as a trivet because of small size and slippery surface. Not really clear to me if the surface finish can really hold up to hot items. Recommend product only as a decorative item not as a trivet.
