Love the style - hate the heavy coarse material

I purchased this for one purpose, but will end up using it for something else because the fabric weave is so coarse and heavy (think canvas). The pattern appears to be 'painted on' so I have no idea how it will last through multiple washings/dryings. I wish the item description had a fabric weight and threads per inch/cm measure. This will work well for covering outdoor furniture, but is too scratch for bedspread or even table covering.
