The Marimekko Katjuusa Bath Towels demonstrate an attention to detail that will transform a bath space into a relaxing retreat. Maija Isola's 1960 Katjuusa pattern is raised for a texture that is as lovely to look at as it is to touch, while the bottom of the towels are finished with a flat, reinforced border. Crafted from 100% cotton, this bath towel is thick and absorbent for everyday use.

When the description says that towels have raised texture, I visioned them like Rättimatto pattern that has raised pattern on one side and full terry cloth on the other. Here the black alternates from one side to the other to form the pattern leaving plain white cloth to the reverse. Also, it would have looked more pleasing to the eye, if the cloth would be closer to color that forms the pattern, black and white is pretty harsh. I remember Katjuusa as having dark olive or grey background with black forming the pattern. Thinness is fine, actually better than really thick towel. I was glad to get a towel in the classic pattern, but I can see that somebody might feel little cheated the way this is constructed.

Takes a bit of getting used to

The pattern on this towel leaves spaces with just cotton fabric between the terrycloth pattern. It does dry quickly, but it's different from any other towel I've used, and I'm still getting used to that.

Usual Marimekko quality, but thinner than expected. Also not made in Finland.
