This Marimekko Lumimarja fabric features Erja Hirvi's symmetrical design of a blossoming tree against a grey background. Called Lumimarja (Snow Berry), the acrylic finish makes it perfect for mess-prone areas like the kitchen or dining room. Use it to craft tablecloths, runners, or placemats.

Please note: This fabric is coated in acrylic, not PVC as Marimekko fabric previously was. Although it is less shiny and smooth than the PVC fabrics, it has even greater benefits. A safe and eco-friendly alternative, acrylic-coating has better stain repellent qualities than PVC, is machine-washable, and is foldable without leaving marks on the fabric.

Perfect tablecloth using Marimekko Acrylic-coated Fabric

I found that one yard of this Acrylic-coated Fabric is the perfect size for my kitchen table for two (with two leaves). This is now the second piece I've ordered for this purpose, both with lovely Marimekko designs. Maintaining it is very easy with just a swipe with a sponge. However, when my new design arrived I washed the previous one in my washing machine and it came out perfectly clean and smooth with no cracks in the acrylic coating at all. It is now folded and stored for the next time I feel the need for a change. I highly recommend this product.

We bought this fabric to upholster a shoe bench for our entryway and we love it. It's practical and beautiful at the same time. Very good quality, with clean colors. It brings interest to a contemporary home.
Can this fabric which I purchased for a tablecloth be machine washed?

The fabric can be machine washed at 40C (104F) on the delicate cycle with a detergent that does not contain any bleach. Frequent machine washing, however, weakens the properties of the coating. Hang the cloth to dry as straight as possible and iron while damp on the revese side with a cool iron.
DO NOT SOAK the fabric, as this may cause the colors to bleed.
