Maija Isola's 1965 Kukko Ja Kana design feels both retro and modern on this Marimekko fabric, printed in Finland. Blocks of color create an eye-catching statement on PVC-coated cotton. The design has a long repeat, making it perfect for crafting a long tablecloth or breaking up into smaller placemats. The fabric's slick surface is easily wiped clean.

Is the Marimekko Kukko Ja Kana Bright Multicolor Machine washable?
1 Answer
PVC-coated fabrics
100% cotton PVC- coated
The easy-care PVC-coated fabrics are intended for indoor use. As we want our products to be as environmentally safe as possible, we have started to use only wax chemicals soluble in water. Please, remember to wipe off strong-colored stains (such as carrot, tomato, berries, ink, sauces) immediately to prevent the stain from adhering to the porous coating. If the reverse side of the fabric becomes soiled, we recommend machine wash. Avoid using fast spin cycle. Do not soak, because printed colors may bleed. Please, remember that continuous maschine-wash weakens the waxing, as water-soluable wax dissolves somewhat in washing. The fabric can be steam ironed on the reverse side.
