I have other Marimekko plastic coated placemats which seem better quality than these. These don't completely flatten out as they seem to have the PVC coating slightly smaller than the fabric interior. So the edges don't all lay smoothly. It's not totally noticeable though, and we hope to get good use from them. They needed a bit of time to off-gas the PVC smell too. The design of the fabric is Marimekko-lovely!
