Q & A
Named Tengmalm's Owl after Swedish Natural Peter Gustaf Tengmalm, this mouth-blown beauty is inspired by the real Boreal owl. Oiva Toikka's 1997 artistic version shares the same wondrous expression, plump body and stoic posture; all beloved features that led to its reintroduction this year. A mottled motif adds dimension to the green body, but you'll have a hard time taking your gaze off its big, moonlit eyes. This bird is referred to as Tengman’s Owl in the iittala catalog.
