A cross between a bowl and a plate, the iittala Taika Small Coupe Bowl is a helpful hybrid to have on hand for pasta, salad or stir fry dishes; though Asian-inspired, this versatile style is suitable for any cuisine. Klaus Haapaniemi's Taika (Magic) pattern infuses the center of the dish with rich color and folkloric design while leaving the rim a clean and creamy white. Combine this piece with other iittala collections such as Teema, Sarjaton or Kartio to create an eclectic yet cohesive set. The glazed porcelain is freezer, microwave, oven and dishwasher safe to be as ideal for daily dining as it is for special meals.
Care: Dishwasher, microwave, oven and freezer safe

The character that caused me to fall in love with this pattern. I've never had so much fun building a set! Mix and match! And FinnStyle has the best prices, and the dishes have always gotten to me quickly and unharmed. I will use this bowl for cereal, pasta, entree salads, etc.
Pros
Beautiful design, functionally sturdy.

A Lovely Extra

I have a full set of Teema in the plain but gorgeous creamy white. Can't say enough about the design and durability. Teema has survived toddlers, ten year olds and now teenagers. And the adults never tire of the versatile design. This Taika pattern always makes me smile, so I've added a few pieces to my collection since it debuted. We have the big mugs, the small sauce dishes and now these larger, shallow bowls. I love them, but I can say exactly what I'll use them for. We use the small Teema bowls for cereal and desserts. We use the large Teema bowls for pasta, soups and the like. The Teema bowls are in between in size and shallower than both. Good for smaller servings.
Pros
an in-between size, works nicely with Teema, whimsical pattern
Cons
spendy

Sometimes you just need a little bowl--not too large, but not too small either. This is the perfect size, and the happy owl always makes me smile.

Great new shape for Taika
December 2, 2014
We first bought Taika items a few years ago and really loved them but were a bit disappointed in the shape of the bowls because we prefer shallow bowls for soup, salad, and pasta. Therefore we were delighted to discover these. The design complements our other Taika pieces beautifully.

It is not too deep, not too big just good size for individual salad or pasta servings from the big bowls. This is little bite biger than Teem bread plate. So happy with this purchase.
