Q & A
Inspired by and designed for Asian cuisine, this lidded bowl is perfect for soup but also great for rice, steamed vegetables, and more. The lid will keep whatever contents you choose to serve warm, and has a knob for easy lifting. Though the beautiful piece looks like fine china, it's suitable for everyday dining as the vitreous porcelain is microwave, oven, freezer, and dishwasher safe. Called Taika (Magic), this pattern was designed by Klaus Haapaniemi in 2006 and has been a timeless favorite ever since. It depicts a folkloric forest, here in hues of blue, red, and beige on ivory. Pull from these hues to mix and match with other iittala dinnerware, such as Teema or Origo.

Perfect Covered Bowls

Hard to find perfection, but I think these Iittala dishes fit the definition. Generous individual covered soup bowls that are attractive and functional. They integrate well with other Taika dishes. Liked the design well enough, that I placed a second order.

I spent a long time looking at the serving pieces, debating what to get to serve for a Thanksgiving meal. My fault, I didn't bother to check dimensions on this piece. I assumed it'd be a serving piece, since it's in the description. It fits a (very large) single portion of food, and that's about it. The colors are *much* more vibrant in the stock photos, they are muted in reality.
