Named Kastehelmi (dewdrop) after the bubbled detailing on the pressed glass, this collection was originally produced from 1964-1988 and was brought back to celebrate Oiva Toikka's 50 year mark as a designer. The bubbled design wraps around the jar, including the base, while the lid is smooth in contrast. The lid protects the contents as it has a rubber seal, but it is also safe for popping on and off the jar, as it is made of emulating acrylic. Stash cinnamon sticks, chocolates, sugar cubes, or even succulents in this elegant glass jar. The iittala Linen color is moody and sophisticated for a modern look on open shelving.

This is quite a bit larger than I anticipated. It is too attractive just to put away and use as storage. I wonder if it will be too large for serving things like chutney. I guess time will tell. It looks like an interesting product, but don't know yet what uses I will find for it. I do wish it came in clear and the pretty blue and green colors.

This is the second jar I bought. I tried one and realised that it is not only very appealing visually but also really well made ( in Finland) and works perfectly keeping moisture in as I wanted. Highly recommend!
