Q & A
Inspired by the original Aalto (Savoy) vase, this rounder version simplifies the original for the ultimate modern and sleek look. The fluid lines of Alvar Aalto's 1936 design are left untouched, still beautifully illustrating the curving shores and rolling waves of Finland's many bodies of water. Fittingly, this water inspired "Sea Blue" hue perfectly fits the piece's story. The color of calm waters or an ocean tide, it is both peaceful and powerful. It takes 7 craftsmen, 12 work stages and 30 hours to create just one of these extraordinary mouth-blown vases.
