A bouquet of fresh cut flowers will fall flawlessly into place in the iittala Aalto Vase - 6-1/4". Alvar Aalto designed the fluid lines of this vase in 1936, and they beautifully reflect the curving shores and rolling waves of Finland's many bodies of water. Though called Aqua because of the aquatic inspiration behind it, the color is much more of a purplish-blue hue. This color is especially saturated at it's edges, where it glows almost neon when basked in the right light.

I first bought this vase as a set, with a candleholder, from Tampere, on my first trip to Finland. During my last apartment move I dropped it and it broke. I was very pleased to see the same color offered here on Finnstyle, so I had to get it. I love everything about it - the color, the shapes, the versatility of use and how I can position it.
