Inspired by the original Aalto (Savoy) vase, this rounder version simplifies the original for the ultimate modern and sleek look in a new, larger size. The fluid lines of Alvar Aalto's 1936 design are preserved, still beautifully illustrating the curving shores and rolling waves of Finland's many bodies of water. It takes 7 craftsmen, 12 work stages and 30 hours to create just one of these extraordinary mouth-blown vases. The amethyst color is vivid and alluring, perfect for flower arrangements or whatever contents you choose. Aalto designed the functional art so that the end user could determine its purpose.

Are bubbles normal?

I bought this on sale and noticed that the sale pieces I got had bubbles in the glass. Disappointing given how expensive these are at full retail. Not sure if I got a “reject” because I pad the sale price, or if this is normal for this product. Overall still four stars because when it has flowers in it, the bubble isn’t noticeable and it’s still a beautiful, quality vase.

I originally ordered the Amethyst color and then decided to switch to the blue 10 1/2:" vase as a gift for my sister. She loved it and it was a perfect match with her decor!The vase was beautifully wrapped in colorful wrapping paper with an elegant bow. She was thoroughly surprised and delighted when she received the hand-written gift card you created, her nickname on the box, and the beautiful gift wrapping and ribbon .She called me, thoroughly surprised, and said, ”Who does that today?” Noone.” And, I then replied, “FinnStyle, of course!!”Thanks again for the reliably great customer service..
