To celebrate Oiva Toikka's 50 year career as a designer, the Dewdrop (Kastehelmi) pattern is available to grace your table. Originally in production from 1964-1988, Kastehelmi has been reintroduced by Iittala in clear and apple green, all decorated with concentric rings of rounded glass dewdrops.

Note: Plate does not have much of a lip on the edge compared to other plates in the series

I purchased this plate to use as a dessert tray. I have used it many times to arrange pastries and cakes. Every time I use it I receive rave compliments. I thought it may be difficult to hold, but the raised bottom helps to make for a secure grip.

This is a beautiful piece of dinnerware that is perfect for showing off any number of delicacies. I have used it for savory dishes as well as desserts. I have also used it to display candles and flowers. It never fails to illicit compliments from my guests.

I got a blue Kastehelmi plate. Since it was on sale. But the color does not really show the beauty of Kastehelmi. After all I feel like I spent too much (even on sale) for this plate. But it is a good size and made solidly.

I am in love with Kastehelmi light blue. This is a very thick serving plate. The only problem I have is it's so big that does not fit into my kitchen cabinet. haha.

It is beautiful to serve cake, appetizers or anything else on this plate. I especially like it because it is so flat and doesn't take so much space to store. I live in typical NYC small apartment. So saving space is very important.
