Celebrate Finland's 100th anniversary of independence with the Arabia mug collection. Each of the 10 mugs features designs from a different decade, telling the story of Finland throughout the years. American visual artist and designer, Howard Smith, moved to Finland in 1962 and worked at Arabia as a visiting artist for several years. The characteristic features of Smith's art are bright colors and clear forms, particularly those combining black and white.

These mugs are superb quality and are not too small or too big. I've ordered other mugs by Ittala that are beautiful, but oversized. So if you're looking for a smaller European size coffee cup, this is perfect. And this particular design from 1987 is gorgeous to look at. Makes a lovely gift too because it comes individually boxed.
