Make your next cooking or baking venture an amusing event with the Alessi Yellow Duck Kitchen Timer. Part of Alessi's "A di Alessi" line which provides the best in design at an affordable price, this timer was designed by Eero Aarnio, one of the pioneers of using plastic in industrial design. This thermoplastic resin timer takes form of a quirky long-necked duck and encompasses traditional and modern mechanics. It is set by manually rotating the central dial: clockwise sets the minutes and counterclockwise for the seconds. The remaining time is digitally exhibited on a liquid crystal display and a funny duck quack goes off to alert you when time is up. Fun and functional, the Alessi Yellow Duck Kitchen Timer can be placed on any flat surface and is the perfect addition to any kitchen.

The timer is provided with two batteries that are already inserted.
Care: Do not clean the timer under running water. Clean the outer surface with a damp cloth, then carefully dry with a soft cloth.

Cute and easy to use.

This is cute and easy to use. I do like it. But for the price I wish it did just one particular thing. When done it quacks, not particularly loud, so you need to be in the same room...not a big deal. I just wish it would quack a little longer, in case you wonder about for a bit....I missed it once and almost burnt the pizza!

I gave this timer to the cook in our family, and he thought it was great. He liked the design, the way the digital timer functions, and the obvious humor in the whole thing. I am seriously considering giving it to other cooks in our family when those birthdays roll around.

It is functional, attractive, and humorous. I like that it is designed by a Finnish designer. (we are not Finnish, by the way)
Cons
It is made in China and not Finland. BUMMER on that.
