Decorative artist and glass designer Goran Höngell set a trend for minimalist glass design in 1950s with the introduction of his Aarne glassware collection. It was awarded a gold medal at the esteemed Milan Triennale of 1954; selected as the symbol of the iittala glassworks for its 100th anniversary in 1981; and is featured in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Aarne remains one of the most classic shapes in the world of tabletop design. The complementary Aarne ice tongs are designed with form and function equally in mind. These handsome tongs are the proper tool for gripping the perfect amount of ice.
