Marimekko's Vuorenkasvit fabric was designed by Finnish designers Maija and Kristina Isola. It features light, airy field flowers in graphic asymmetry. The fabric has a silk-screened signature and date that is part of the fabric (see inset photo).
Cotton batiste is the preferred fabric for heirloom sewing. It is a soft cotton, perfect for underlining in dresses or nightgowns, or as backing for soft cotton quilts. This fabric would make an elegant wall hanging as well.
