I've had a set of Rosenthal's Suomi for decades, but the set had no service plates. My recent purchase of 4 of these 11.5" plates was with the intent to use them for casual, one-course meals. They've already been used for an informal salad, steak, and baked potato dinner and for a serve-yourself barbecue buffet. The plates' generous size makes them well-suited for this kind of dining. Perhaps someday I'll even use them as service plates for a more formal meal.
