This item is 95% plastic. The "brass" is a .20 mm. (or so) thick piece of veneer tape around the outside only. Taped over, you guessed it, plastic. The temperature markings on the face (taped on plastic) were cracked and flaking off. The whole item weighs about an ounce. I returned it immediatrely.
