These coaster go well with your festive decorated table settings. The bottom is mirror and the rim is matt finish. You can see beautiful shadows when you put a glass on it, especially colored glass look better on mirror stuff. I do not really care for the back side finish. It is hard to wipe up water inside of its curled up edges. They are totally stainless, but you might get some sooty black stuff from the edges when you shake the coaster.
