This endearing image of Snorkmaiden and Moomintroll embracing has captured hearts since its 1996 release. Moomin-founder Tove Jansson created the original illustration, which appears in the second and third Moomin comic books. It was then interpreted by Tove Slotte, who beautifully took the classic from paper to porcelain. Moomin mugs are crafted from porcelain and are microwave, oven, freezer, and dishwasher safe. There is an identifying stamp on the bottom and attached gift tag with a sweet story about the design.
This one reads: "Snorkmaiden charms Moomintroll over and over again, even though sometimes they both have crushed on others. Snorkmaiden wants to be rescued and Moomintroll is happy to help. Their adventures always have a happy ending."
