iittala Teema White Square Vegetable Dish

This square shape has been more useful than expected. The square footprint saves space when there are many round plates at the table. I have round side plates, too, but I reach for the square plates when I need a larger capacity.

This square dish doesn't get as much use as the other pieces in my Teema set, but I'm glad I have it. Capacity-wise, I could get away with using one of my other circular plates or bowls, but the square shape (I think) saves table space and adds some visual interest. I mostly use it as an accent server, but I could see using it as a main dish for a smaller meal or compact foods (like sushi).

As relevant today as it will be in 50 years.

We use the Teema vegetable plate daily. It's the perfect size!

The Square Dish adds creativity to the round Teema collection. Plus - a great compliment to rectangle serving dishes. The dish is deep enough to hold "pie and ice-cream" or your favorite "mixed nuts"!

This is probably one of the teema dishes I use most often. I don’t have many square dishes and did not expect this would be so useful until I actually started using it. Thanks to the raised rim it can be used for a variety of dishes from simply cut fruits to oven dish like gratin. I wish there’s ones in different colors as well.

A nice addition to the Teema line. Used for vegetables for two or a salad for one. It has become a favorite addition to the dinnerware. It’s capacity is more than one might think.

I have found this dish to be perfect for individual servings of things like pie a la mode or any dish with a sauce or dressing, so i ordered more of them.

A trip to Scandinavia is where I first saw iittala Teema, and after a couple of years of drooling over this dish ware, I started to purchase sets to replace my Dansk (also nice, but not as nice) dishware.
Like other reviewers, I can only rave. I am in love with all things Teema, Scandinavian, actually.
This charming square plate is a beautiful variation to add to my round dishware. I'll use it as a serving dish or when I am just wanting to gaze at it....... I may have to get a few more.......

Honestly, I give this square dish five stars just because I love Teema so much overall. They've been our everyday dishes for 18 years and I never tire of them, which is saying a lot because I like to swap out most daily use items fairly frequently. In that same 18 years, I've had several flatware, glass, linen, knife and cookware changes, but Teema is always a constant.

So back to this square dish; it looks fine, and works with the other Teems serving pieces. And it is definitely a high-sided thing, so it functions as a bowl rather than a plate. Yet I'm just not sure what to do with it. As a serving dish, it is too small for 4 servings of anything. As an individual dish, the squareness is less appealing than the round Teema options of the same size. I'm thinking of giving it to my folks, as it will work much better for a small household. I'm looking at you, peas for two.

Loved the size, perfect for small servings of food. However, if they were just a little bit deeper, it would be more functional for servings of
larger vegetables.

I love this dish paired with my Teema rectangular platter for chips and salsa.
