Inspired by the original Aalto (Savoy) vase, this rounder version simplifies the original for the ultimate modern and sleek look in a new, larger size. The fluid lines of Alvar Aalto's 1936 design are preserved, still beautifully illustrating the curving shores and rolling waves of Finland's many bodies of water. It takes 7 craftsmen, 12 work stages and 30 hours to create just one of these extraordinary mouth-blown vases. The clear version is a classic that allows visibility of stems for flower arrangements or whatever contents you choose; Aalto designed the functional art so that the end user could determine its purpose.
