The print was born from watercolors and achieved with digital printing techniques by designer Lasse Kovanen. Called Puisto (Park), it's easy to see the inspiration of nature-rich spaces with fresh illustrations of acorns, leaves, buds, and berries. The greenery gives off a lush glow to the grey backdrop of this fabric. Made from 100% acrylic-coated cotton, the fabric works well when crafted into a tablecloth or placemat set. Acrylic-coated cotton makes minor messes easily wiped clean, but also allows it to be machine washable for more major spills. It feels coarser than untreated cotton, but still feels like fabric and not like vinyl of earlier coated fabrics.

I made a table runner and 4 placemats from a yard of this fabric (acrylic coated). The fabric was easy to work with even though I am not an accomplished sewer. Very pleased with the outcome!
