Designer Lasse Kovanen was inspired by the reeds and other shore plants found during a canoe trip to create this pattern. It was originally done in watercolors before being digitally printed onto 100% acrylic-coated cotton, and the beautiful brushstrokes are still preserved. Acrylic-coated cotton makes minor messes easily wiped clean, but also allows it to be machine washable for more major spills. It feels coarser than untreated cotton, but still feels like fabric and not like vinyl of earlier tablecloths and runners. Plus, the eco-friendly treatment helps to avoid wrinkling when folded!
