FINNSTYLE ADDS ALESSI TO ITS ROSTER OF MODERN DESIGN PRODUCTSFINNSTYLE ADDS ALESSI TO ITS ROSTER OF MODERN DESIGN PRODUCTS "At FinnStyle, our goal is to widen perspectives, inspire lifestyles and promote creativity through our products," said Horn. "Alessi's goods enable us to continue our mission and we are thrilled to augment our selection with this world-class company." Among the new merchandise that will be available in-store and online are quirky plastic everyday objects such as duck-shaped kitchen timers and magnetic mouse-shaped bottle openers designed by Eero Aarnio. Aarnio is known as one of the pioneers of using plastic in industrial design and is famous for the ball chair, bubble chair and pastil chair. Many of his works are on display in some of the world's most prestigious museums including Victoria and Albert Museum in London, MoMA in New York and Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein. In addition, customers will find high-quality stainless steel items including coffee pots, teapots and serving sets designed by Kristiina Lassus. Lassus, born in Helsinki in 1966, attended the University of Industrial Arts of Helsinki and the Helsinki University of Technology. She is a recipient of several design awards including the Red Dot Award, Design Plus and Fair to Nature. Alessi was founded in 1921 as a company that crafted metal goods for eating and drinking. The company has since evolved into a business that collaborates with world-famous architects and designers to create premium everyday objects. Among the best known products are Richard Sapper's kettle with a two-tone whistle, Michael Graves' kettle with the bird shaped whistle, and Philippe Starck's playful three-legged Juicy Salif citrus squeezer. Alessi products will hit FinnStyle and FinnStyle.com in mid-October. To request more information and hi-res product images, please contact Erica Dao at erica [at] finnstyle [dot] com.
