Q & A
Sanna Annukka's Marimekko Vuorilaakso (Mountain Valley) print is intricate and layered, but in a soft and light colorway of grey on white. The duvet cover and pillow sham have a subtle but indulgent feel on smooth 100% cotton. When paired with the striped Ajo sheets, the bedroom achieves a playful yet pulled together look. Made from cotton percale in 300-thread-count, the the material will feel as inviting as it looks and only grow softer with easy machine washing.
Twin set includes: 1 duvet cover & 1 standard shamAbout Percale: A high-quality weave, percale has a noticeably tighter weave that allows for a higher thread count which makes the fabric softer to the touch. Medium in weight, the fabric is matte with no additional sheen or shine but the texture is very smooth and able to resist warping and washes exceptionally well.

This American version of Marimekko sheets was not what I expected. An American company has licensed the Marimekko prints and designed the sheets and had them manufactured in Mexico. The cotton quality is not the same as in Finland, and the design of the sheets is definitely not Finnish - with buttons on the duvet cover and shams instead of pillow cases. The only thing that's Finnish about these is the pattern. The worst is the washing instructions - cold, delicate cycle, cool iron. (Another thing different than in Finland, where sheets are washed on hot.) The last duvet set I bought at Ikea was better quality than these.
Pros
Marimekko pattern.
Cons
Design of sheets, washing instructions. At full price, much too expensive for the quality.
