I have quilted and done patchwork with Marimekko fabric for 50 years. Black and white stripes make a striking counterpoint to other patterns. Marimekko fabric with the intense dyes are such high quality that I need this fabric to set off my work. The only other fabrics I use are Italian cotton denim and heavy rustic natural linen. I have lined my handmade Marimekko Christmas stockings and handbags with the heavy linen for excellent results this year.
