The Year of the Dragon in the Chinese zodiac comes once every 12 years, and 2024 marks the earthly branch of this creature in the Chinese calendar. Beginning at the Chinese new year in February 2024, the Year of the Dragon is considered special as its roots go back to ancient Chinese culture. The Chinese dragon is thought to symbolize power, luck, honor, and as the Finnish word "Jalo" translates to: nobleness. Atop this Marimekko plate, a red, pink and ochre yellow dragon wraps around the white stoneware to commemorate the dragon zodiac, allowing you to enjoy everyday treats and snacks with a taste of luck. The Marimekko Jalo small plate has an identifying "Year of the Dragon 2024" on the bottom stoneware and is packaged in a white and red logo box.
