A mysterious light in the dark, the Marimekko Irrbloss Mug is adorned with Astrid Sylwan’s illuminating new print. In Swedish, Irrbloss means “will-o’-the-wisp,” which is a phosphorescent light that glows over bogs and marshes. A scientific effect that happens when the gasses of the organic matter in the bogs spontaneously combust, its myth has led rise to many fanciful explanations.
