The crispness of a clear Midwest winter day is reflected in Maija and Kristina Isola’s fabric Madison WI (Wisconsin). Originally conceived in the late 1970s when mother and daughter were working together for Marimekko, this print was likely inspired by Maija’s stint living in the United States in Madison, Wisconsin. (See secondary photo for an approximation of one yard.)


Since conception, Madison WI has gone through a series of chromatic transformations at the hand of Kristina Isola. In the latest rendition, frosty branches sway across a palette of blues and purples, creating depth and movement reminiscent of a walk through a winter forest. This cotton sateen would make beautiful drapes, a stunning tablecloth, or a luxurious refurnished couch.

This fabric is sold by the yard. Enter desired number of yards in the Yards box. If you order multiple yards, they will remain intact.

The photo shows the fabric pattern as if the cut edges were at the top and bottom; selvage with Marimekko name will appear on the sides.
