While many of Oiva Toikka's creations are hatched solely from his imagination, Anna’s Hummingbird is a rendering of the real bird named after a 19th century Italian duchess. An exclusive to FinnStyle, its partner sites and the Museum of Glass it was designed for, this limited edition beaut is numbered x/200 to make it a must-have for iittala collectors. Feathers of emerald green, a chest of speckled plumage and a contrasting red-violet head contribute to an accurate yet artistic interpretation of her live counterpart. Petite and plump, her body is balanced by a paddle tail and pointed, metallic beak. The handcrafted, mouth-blown bird is a one-of-a-kind addition to your or a friend's flock.The birds of Oiva Toikka's 2014 collection are individually mouth-blown by the master glassblowers at iittala’s glassworks in Finland. With production limited to only 200, each handcrafted iittala Toikka Anna's Hummingbird is numbered x/200 and carries the signature “O. Toikka IITTALA” on its base to ensure authenticity.

I know each piece is individual, but my bird's colours are nothing like those of the pictured bird (which I was hoping for). Despite that, mine is a sweet little bird, and closer to the real Anna's Hummingbird colours, so I'm happy with it.
